Oahu, Hawaii 2011

Ahh...Hawaii.  Can't you just feel the warm sun on your skin?  Well, if you live in Alaska that is what you are craving this time of year.  We just returned from a much needed break from the winter and Hawaii was just the cure.  As you can see from the pictures we experienced some unforgettable moments.  It was wonderful to experience these things with each other especially before Chad had to head to Japan for an extended deployment.

Hunter, contemplating the open sea.

Hunter and Ariel relaxing on the deck of the catamaran.
After our sailing trip we pulled into the harbor to get a close up view of the 'Pirates of the Caribbean ship'

Our very moving visit to the USS Arizona.

Hunter reading the names of the men who lost their life in the attack on Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941.

The maze at the Dole plantation.

When Chad asked Hunter if he would like to take a glider ride over the North Shore, Hunt didn't hesitate for a moment before he said, yes!

Ariel's favorite part of the trip..and our, too.   Being in a lagoon with no less than 6 giant Green Sea Turtles.  Ask Ariel about Lucky.

I know amazing, right?  From sea turtles to monk seals.  This big guy is we woke to on Thursday morning of our trip.  He was on the beach right outside our hotel.  He eventually flopped back in.

We enjoyed our last Hawaiian sunset before we left on Friday.
