Sledding in October

Two weeks ago we took the kids sledding at Hatcher's Pass. The snow was deep powder and just right for Hunter and Ariel (mom & dad, too) to try out their new sleds. It was a winter playland. In fact, there were backcounrty skiers and snowboarders hiking up and making their own trails down. Did I mention this was the beginning of October and only and hour north of our house in Eagle River??
